Denji is a poverty-stricken teen working off his dead father's debt to the yakuza by hunting devils with his chainsaw devil companion Pochita. When the yakuza betray and kill him, Pochita merges with his heart — resurrecting Denji as Chainsaw Man, a human-devil hybrid who can sprout roaring chainsaws from his body.
